at the beach

yesterday me and my family were at the beach we built a sandcastle we also found ten hermit crabs.it was very interesting to see what that they fought each other when we put them all together in a little pool they have to be under water to breath . me my sister and my brother all found one sand dollar and we played in the waves . after that we waded too an island of rocks on the island my grandpa found a crab as big as 4 inches then we waded back  we at lunch and went home for a soccer practice.  

Basil II

We've been learning about Basil II and the Byzantine Empire.

It was the Empire after Rome fell in the East. The capital was Constantinople. It was a big empire for over 300 years and then it shrank til only Constantinople was left as the Ottoman Turks destroyed it an that was the end of the Byzantine Empire.

Basil II was the Emperor during the peak of its power. He conquered Bulgaria where my ancestors are from. I like his name though because in Redwall there is a character named Basil Stag Hare.

Today we conquered Jerusalem on Civ IV from Basil and we were the French in the Middle Ages. We are also at war with the Vikings. The middle ages it seems like everyone was at war.

1st Soccer Game

Today was my first official soccer game.

In the 2nd half the score was 3-2.

I was running toward the goal and Tyler on my team was on the other side of the field with the ball.

Tyler passed it to me and I shot it and scored a GOOOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!

I don't know if anyone filmed it, but if felt great.

I learned that soccer is fun and I love playing with my brother.

Ouchy

Today my brother and I were playing with our sister in our back yard by the big tree log and when she dropped her doll down by the tree it landed on a wasps nest. Then we started to cry and run to our mommy because these bad bees were biting us.
It was not fun but mommy saved us and put on our bites baking soda and vinegar and it was not hurting at all. Only later at night before I went to sleep it was hurting me again but she put some after bite cream and we were ok. I got 2 bites and my brother got 6 bites. My sister didn't get any bites. I was glad that she was ok and didn't get hurt.

After that we learned that there is a wasp/bee eating bird and loves to eat wasps. I wish I had one of those birds. Some spiders also eat wasps.
We are all feeling better but that was not a fun experience but we learned a lot about wasps too.

The Beach

here are some things we saw at the beach yesterday . fish , crabs , orange rocks and green heads . we had fun at the beach and imagined many things. i love summer and going to the beach when it is low tide and look at the animals and learn about them. we live in such a beautiful place

Learning to play the Piano

I like to play the piano. It is fun to hear music and later play it on my piano. My dad is a great teacher and he plays the piano by ear. I am trying to be like him;) Here are some of the songs I know how to play on the piano right now. I have a goal for summer to learn 10 new songs. I am excited.

otters

 there are otters that live in ponds, rivers,lakes and in the Pacific ocean .river otters are not as big as sea otters .sea otters eat a lot of sea urchins  in fact if there were no sea otters in the ocean the urchins population would grow and grow they and other sea animals would eat all the plants and then there would not be anymore plants  then the sea animals would all die . so sea otters are important . river otters eat fish and live in kelp forest. here is a fun fact i know about otters i know that group of otters is called a ( raft ) otters are very fast swimmers     they have predators but humans are there greatest threat so pleas try too help otters  they are one of my favorite animals.
