The 4th of July , 2015 & 2015 womens world cup
We had a fine fourth of July this year, and watched the Final of the 2015 FIFA Womens World Cup Canada the next Day. We had Waffles, with cream, blueberries , strawberries and other fruits, for Breakfast. I made a circular American flag during breakfast, with cream , and the named berries.
Also our dad read the Declaration of Independence to us , and I drew 4 founding fathers ( to use in Independence Day family home evening)
We have been going to the beach recently , and have been boogie boarding. The world cup final was between The United States of America, and Japan. We scored 4 goals in the first 16 minutes!, with 75% of them being Lloyd's hat trick ( she had one from half field, and the Japanese keeper fell down backing up to save it :) . Japan came back with 2 goals, one of them being an own goal. Then shortly after the 2nd Japanese goal the United States of America got back and scored one, after an amazing corner that the keeper saved, and then a pass and goal, right through the midst of defenders. The game Ended 5-2, and the United States of America won their 3rd title, and are now the all time best team again. The United States of America let in the least goals in the tournament , only 3.

Europe Adventure
We recently got back from an Adventure in Europe. We first packed, then we drove to a bus station. At the bus station we parked and got on the bus to Boston. We got off at the airport and discovered someone had taken our bag. We went to terminal E and took a Aer Lingus flight to Dublin that lasted about 5 hrs & 20 minutes. We did not have that one bag, but the bus company was searching for it. In Dublin we took a taxi to a fishing village , saw a castle there and ate at a cafe. We had about 4 hr layover so then we took another taxi back to Dublin airport. The currency in Ireland was Euro's but they drove on the left side of the road. So they had a bit of English culture left from the time Britain ruled Ireland. The taxi drivers did not really like England and one played a Irish rebel song when we asked him his favorite Irish music. We took another Aer Lingus flight from terminal 2 to Inverness Scotland. That flight was only an hour and a half. In Inverness we got a Mercedes rental car that turned off when you stopped ! We drove towards Skye after we got some food from a market. There were sheep and green hills everywhere!
We stopped on our way and hiked up a hill and had a picnic on it. There were many small rivulets running through the hills too. We saw plenty of sheep on our way to Skye. We stopped at some castles like Eileen Donan and Urqhart
. We also went to a town called Strontian, where strontium was discovered. In Skye we slept in a cottage, and explored many places, including Portree ( the capital ), and the fairy springs
next to the Cullens ( a mountain range ). Then we went down to Stirling, and saw Stirling Castle. After this we went down to Edinburgh and the surrounding towns. We saw Edinburgh Castle
and went to church in DalKeith. We also went through a flower field ( around North Berwick )
. We hiked up a The North Berwick Law ( or just the Berwick Law ), in North Berwick , it is a hill that has a whale's Jawbone ( now a replica , added in 2008, after one rotted away , and was removed in 2005 ) on the top. It also has ruins of an Iron age hill fort and military bases of many wars, including the Napoleonic and WWII. I got lost on it but, We found each other later. After this we had a Flight booked for London, but when we stopped on our way to the Airport , Our Sister's lip got slashed on the concrete. We went to the airport , and they told us that we should get it stitched, ( by the way the medical agent there was not very helpful ) But they couldn't do it, and there was a hospital 7 miles away or so. So we went to St Johns hospital and waited forever in the emergency room. Then after some more waiting in a patient's room, there came a facial surgeon and he stitched our sisters lip up. We had missed our flight from Edinburgh airport, and drove around, after getting some food at Tesco's, to find a hotel to sleep for the night. We went to hotel one hotel, they said no, then another ( that they recommended to us ), that said no , and another ( that they recommended to us ) , that said NO. But , finally we found one that said yes! and we slept there during the night. There was a deal if you book flights the day before them , before midnight, then they are cheaper. Our dad booked our flight to London , like 2 minutes before Midnight. We slept there that night, and then had a Breakfast there , for they had breakfast served there. That day we flew to London, we had lost some time, so we did not go to Oxford. But we took a bus tour of London, and saw Big Ben's tower
, Parliament , and other buildings. We then flew to Bergerac, France, and then drove to Beynac.
There we slept in an old ( about medieval ) stone cottage of the hill that had the castle. The Cottage was refurbished on the inside for modern needs. We explored much of the Dordogne
, and some of the castles around it, I got my Sword in one of the Castles.
After this we drove to Paris in a rental car we had gotten in Bergerac airport. We lost a wallet at one of the tolls, but finally, after some 6 hours, we made it to Paris. In Paris we explored
, and saw Notre Dame
( there was a statue of Charlemagne near it, and many pigeons ) , The Louvre and the Eiffel Tower
( I touched the base of this one ). From here we flew to Dublin, and after a 2 hour layover ( that was delayed some more ), we flew to Boston. It was great to be home, and we had a great time in Europe.

This game was Impossible, Embarrassing, Astonishing, Crushing, unheard of, Not real, Fake, Weird , Amazing, Will be long know in history, Hacked, Brazil's Worst defeat ever and crazy. Germany played amazing today but it was not just that Germany played good ,Brazil played Terrible. I Predicted this game to be close close. I also predicted Brazil too win. But I was wrong wrong. This is like Germany vs Indonesia. Many Records were made in this Game. Here is how it happened. Thomas Muller scored at the 11' and is right behind James Rodriguez for the golden boot. Then Germany scored 4 goals in 6 minutes ! First with Klose then with Kroos twice ending with a goal by Sami Khediria. Brazil was Bewildered. Germany leading 5-0 at Half time. The Germans not only wanted to score over and over again , they were determined the Brazilians did not score. At half time the Brazilian Coach ( Scolari )must have given his beat up team a great pep talk. Because at the start of the second half the Brazilians played harder. But then they kind of gave in again. With substitute Schurrel scoring 2 goals with 10 minutes between them ( 69' 79' ). Right at that moment Brazil was down worse than their worse defeat ( 6-0 vs Uruguay ). So Oscar went on a Breakaway and Scored ( at the 90' ) to tie the worst defeat. The Game ended 7-1. It should have been 8-1 , Ozil had a extremely close shot but it missed. More than half the crowd cried. But the few German fans cheered and enjoyed themselves. Here are some quotes I liked from the commentators: " probably the most astonishing game " " If this were boxing the Referee would stop it to save Brazil from more Punishment ". This Thrashing, Destruction and Humiliation might be because Brazil did not have 2 of their top stars. Neymar and Thiago Silva. This definitely helped the Germans win, but they probably still would have won (if by not as much) even with Thiago Silva and Neymar. There was no Organization in the Brazilian Defense. Thiago Silva is a very good defender and organizer. Without organization the defense could not stop the excellently skilled passers and shooters that the Germans are. The Brazilians could not score many goals either vs Neuer and the strong German defense. With Neymar and Thiago Silva it would have been a closer game but still with the Germans winning. This Game is crazy to think about. A home Semi-Final for Brazil ( Considered the best team of all time ) was lost 7-1. I am calling this the Miracle of Belo Horizonte ( that's the city they played in ) or the Scandal of Belo Horizonte ( if it is a scandal ) It may be. The Referee's were not bribed and it seems so unlikely that the players would be bribed though. It might be a scandal because of the score , Say if a person said I bet that Germany will win 7-1. He would have to pay little if it did not happen because of the chance such a thing would happen and he would get a lot if it did happen, Again because of the chance. Well I will be telling my great grand kids what happened at the Miracle/Scandal of Belo Horizonte.

This match was boring, Close and terrible ( at least for me ). Argentina has not reached it this far since 1990. Netherlands made it to the Semi-finals last world cup. Netherlands had more than half of the possession. But Argentina had more shots. Jasper Cillesin played amazing in net not letting one in. The Netherlands could not score a goal though. Right before the whistle signaled penalties there was a foul that should have been a penalty for Netherlands. Anyway it went into a Penalty shoot out. The Netherlands did not use their last sub for Krul again ( which I think they should have done. ). so here is how the Penalty shoot out went:

They have 7 goals in 6 matches not counting penalty shootout goals. While Germany has scored 17 goals in 6 matches. Germany is looking the better team. But Argentina is not to bad. Germany will probably win this world cup tying Italy for second place in all time world cup wins. Messi is a great player and this is his last chance to win a world cup ( which he will not do )

World cup and the 4th of July
World cup
So the Semi-Finals are set. Most of it going as predicted. The Colombia Brazil Game was predicted by me before the game as a Colombian Win but Brazil " woke up " and Beat the Colombians 2-1. When I saw the starting of the Game I was leaning more towards Brazil. The France Germany game was close too with Germany also " waking up ". It ended 1-0 with Mats Hummels's goal. Belgium tried hard but could not win versus Argentina. Costa Rica played like they usually did , and lost in a penalty shootout. Full descriptions will be down a bit. 4 Emperors of soccer/football in the semi-finals. 2 Europeans 2 south Americans..

This will be a great match. Brazil have 2 of their stars out. Germany has not been playing the best but they have a chance. Neymar got his back injured and will not play anymore in the world cup. Thiago Silva got two yellow cards in 2 different games and is suspended for this match. Brazil beat Germany the only time they played in the World cup so far 2-0. This was the final of the 2002 world cup. East Germany faced Brazil in the 1974 world cup. Brazil won 1-0

Argentina
Netherlands has been playing well. Argentina has not been playing too bad but the team has been mostly leaning on Messi and Di Maria. Di Maria got injured in the game vs Belgium so he is not playing vs Netherlands.

One of the best all time players, Pele played here helping Brazil beat Sweden in Sweden. Since then Brazil has won the World Cup 4 more times ( 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002 ). They did lose in 1950 when they hosted it though. Brazil has qualified and played in every world cup, The only team to do this. They are considered the best team of all time with Italy right behind them. Brazil won the 2013 confederations cup. They are ranked 3rd as of July 5th. They got ranked 1st many times.

Brazil is hosting this world cup as you probably know. They have won all their games in the world cup expect one vs mexico 0-0. They have a pretty good team and are playing well. The teams they have played are ( Croatia 3-1, Mexico 0-0, Cameroon 4-1, Chile 1-1 pen win and Colombia 2-1 )

The Argentina national football team represents Argentina in football.
History
Argentina played their first international game in 1901 with a 3-2 victory over Uruguay .Argentina won their first cup in 1978 when they were the home team. After that they won one more time in 1986. They got ranked 1st in FIFA rankings in 2007. They are ranked 5th as of July 5th. They made it to the Quarter finals in 2010.

Argentina is playing medium They have Messi a great striker also they have HiguaÃn,Aguero and Di Maria. Di Maria is not playing vs Netherlands though. They have won every game in the world cup. But they have not been playing hard teams ( Bosnia & Herzegovina , Nigeria, Iran, Switzerland and Belgium ) And they have barley been beating these teams ( B&H 2-1, Nigeria 3-2, Iran 1-0, Switzerland 1-0 and Belgium-0). They sort of woke up vs Belgium with a defense that does offside traps.

Germany played their first international game in 1908 with a 5-3 loss to Switzerland .The term of Germany in the world cup has could mean many things. Their history in the world cup was a little messed up with WWII and the separation of Germany. Germany could mean east Germany, West Germany, Saarland and Germany. These teams faced each other too so it gets confusing. But needles to say Germany and all other sort of teams like it were usually a world cup power. Germany was stopped from playing in the world cup for some time because of WWII. So I will separate the 4 " German " teams into 4 different histories.
History of Saarland in the world cup
Saarland never qualified for the world cup. Saarland was a protectorate of France in west Germany. But Saarland did not play for West Germany of France they played for themselves. Saarland did not last long though in merged with west Germany.
History of West Germany in the world cup
West Germany won their first world cup in 1954. They won it again in 1974 at home. They won it the last time in 1990.
History of East Germany in the world cup
East Germany made it too the second round of the 1974 world cup. There was no brackets back then. They did not qualify for other world cups.

Modern Germany had their first world cup in 1994 where they made it too the quarterfinals. Their best result was in 2002 where they made it 2nd. They are in the Semi-Finals in this world cup. The highest FIFA rankings they got is 1st.
You could categorize all these teams as Germany and say they won 3 times. Germany is ranked 2nd in FIFA rankings.

History
Netherlands played their first international game in 1905 vs Belgium with a 4-1 victory.The Netherlands have never won a world cup but have been second 3 times ! It is called the Dutch curse.The Netherlands has a great team that deserves to win at least one world cup. The 3 times they were 2nd are 1974,1978 and 2010. They are real close to the final this year too. The Dutch invented total football in the 1970's. Total Football is a tactic that makes any player besides the goalkeeper be able to play any position besides goalkeeping. Like A defender could also play striker and midfield. They came so close in the 1970's and then they kind of slackened off until 2010 and now.

You saw my prediction. It was favoring Colombia. But Brazil woke up. At the 7' Brazil scored with Thiago Silva The Captain of Brazil. The Brazilians played way better than vs Chile. There were many fouls and fakes in this game. 54 fouls is what happens when you put 2 South American teams against each other. Colombia won every game so far, But they were not playing the best teams. Colombia is not a bad team but I spoke to soon when I said they would beat Brazil. I spoke to soon plenty of times. Anyway back to the game. After half -time the Yellow cards started popping up. David Luiz also scored at the 69' with an awesome free kick. At the 80' James Rodriguez scored a Penalty for Colombia when Julio Cesar fouled a Colombian in the box. Brazil is now in the semi-finals.

This game was super close. It started of with a lot of offense and attacking leaning towards Germany. They played good and scored at the 12' with Mats Hummels the man of the match. He did a header that went in. Both teams played well with Germany passing and seemingly had the advantage. There were many tumbles in the French box. Germany still did not play the best. Neuer played well. Him Howard and Ochoa have a good chance at the golden glove.

The Netherlands played hard and had many shots on goal. The Costa Rican keeper , Navas played well though. Netherlands controlled most of the game as the stats show below. The most notable chance for Netherlands was during the 92' when it hit a defender and then the crossbar. They had many chances. Costa Rica did have a breakaway that Cillessen barley saved. The Netherlands were better then the costa ricans. Costa Rica just kept doing offsides traps and faked a bit. They barley held on. It was clear they wanted a penalty shootout late in the game. This is probably because if their keeper Navas. He is a pretty good keeper. He got Injured in his nee and face. The Costa Ricans are not a bad team but they are small in combarsion to the Netherlands. They got this far with offsides traps a pretty good defense, A good keeper and Joel Campbell with 2 or 3 lucky breaks. Most world cups have a crazy team that makes it real far in the tournament only to be beaten by a great team. Anyway after long minutes ( 121 to be precise ) the whistle blew and it was up for a Penalty shootout. But right before the final whistle blew the smart Dutch made a last substitution. Tim Krul in for Jasper Cillessen. This was a rare keeper substitution. They did it because Krul was a better penalty keeper than Cillessen. Krul is tall 6 foot 4 inches. But he had not touched the ball he was super fresh. But each time the Costa Rican took penalties he talked to them and " played mind games " on them. He dived the right way each time. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. The first penalty was taken by Costa Rica. They scored with Krul almost saving it. Netherlands: V Van Persie 1-1 . Costa Rica: X Bryan Ruiz 1-1 . Krul dived the right way and saved it Netherlands : V Robben 2-1 Costa Rica: V Gonzalez 2-2 Netherlands : V Sneijder 3-2 Costa Rica: V Bolanos 3-3 Netherlands : V Kuyt 4-3 Costa Rica: X Michal Umana did not shoot it that hard and Krul once again saved it 4-3 end result ! The Netherlands had great penalties and an excellent keeper. They deserved to win and if they could not win playing they would win in a shootout and that is what they did. This Game was the first time a goalkeeper was brought on only for a penalty shootout in world cup history.

Argentina played well vs Belgium. Di Maria got injured and went out early. Argentina has a better chance vs now. Messi did not score though. 4th of July was a few days ago, the day the declaration of independence was adopted today 238 years ago. July 4th is independence day .
History
Like I said the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4 1776. The Declaration of Independence was a article that declared Independence from Britain. I will write more about this and other things in American History my blog that will happen soon. But Britain was ruling the 13 colonies then and the colonies declared independence. So the Semi-Finals are set. Most of it going as predicted. The Colombia Brazil Game was predicted by me before the game as a Colombian Win but Brazil " woke up " and Beat the Colombians 2-1. When I saw the starting of the Game I was leaning more towards Brazil. The France Germany game was close too with Germany also " waking up ". It ended 1-0 with Mats Hummels's goal. Belgium tried hard but could not win versus Argentina. Costa Rica played like they usually did , and lost in a penalty shootout. This will be a great match. Brazil have 2 of their stars out. Germany has not been playing the best but they have a chance. Neymar got his back injured and will not play anymore in the world cup. Thiago Silva got two yellow cards in 2 different games and is suspended for this match. Brazil beat Germany the only time they played in the World cup so far 2-0. This was the final of the 2002 world cup. East Germany faced Brazil in the 1974 world cup. Brazil won 1-0

Netherlands has been playing well. Argentina has not been playing too bad but the team has been mostly leaning on Messi and Di Maria. Di Maria got injured in the game vs Belgium so he is not playing vs Netherlands.

Germany was stopped from playing in the world cup for some time because of WWII. So I will separate the 4 " German " teams into 4 different histories.

Saarland never qualified for the world cup. Saarland was a protectorate of France in west Germany. But Saarland did not play for West Germany of France they played for themselves. Saarland did not last long though in merged with west Germany.

West Germany won their first world cup in 1954. They won it again in 1974 at home. They won it the last time in 1990.

East Germany made it too the second round of the 1974 world cup. There was no brackets back then. They did not qualify for other world cups.

More World Cup !
There has been a lot happening so far. The Quarter finals are set with my prediction exactly right all the way except USA vs Belgium. In this game Howard played amazing with 16 saves. The USA did not win though. they lost 2-1 with all the goals after standard time.

I think that Colombia has an great chance of winning this if Brazil plays like they did vs Chile. One cool fact is that Neymar and James Rodriguez (two of the best strikers on either team) both wear the same number (10) and both are the same age (22). But James ( 5 ) has more goals than Neymar ( 4 )so far.

The considered best teams are not playing so well. Germany had a bad defense and an adventurous keeper in the game vs Algeria. France is not playing too bad and they have a pretty good chance of beating Germany ( if Germany plays like they did vs Algeria ). But if Germany wakes up, Play's real German soccer and France gets overconfident then BOOM. but you never know what will happen in any game.

This is the only game that I got wrong. Belgium played great. The Unites states of America did not play the best except for Timothy Mathew Howard. He played amazing in net. He beat the record of most saves in a game for united states keeper. He had 16 saves! He played his best and it was not really his fault that they lost. The United states has improved a lot though if they keep improving the Next world cup will most likely be at least a quarter final for them. The game was scoreless the whole standard time and Belgium scored 2 goals in extra time . USA scored 1 with a new 19 year old kid .

One crazy thing happened when Suarez bit Chiellini . It was on June 24 when Uruguay beat Italy in an 1-0 game. Chiellini showed the Referee the bite mark on his shoulder but the ref did nothing about it. A video showed that he actually did bite him and FIFA banned Suarez for 9 matches.

This game was extremely close. Most people would say Brazil. For many reasons(i.e. Host, best team of all time). But it was not a landslide win. The Game went into overtime like most other games in the Round of 16. But lets start from the start. At the 18' Chile scored an own goal or as other people said David Luiz ( a defender ) scored his first goal for his country . My Opinion as I saw is an own goal but officially it is David Luiz who scored. Anyway at the 32' Alexis Sanchez scored when the Brazilian defense did a bad pass. There were many fouls and cards in this game. 51 fouls and 7 yellow cards all together ( mean ref ;). Both allowed goals were in the first half. In the Second half Hulk scored a goal at 55' but the Ref called a hand ball, disallowed the goal and gave hulk a yellow card. Both teams subbed twice in the second half. Standard time ended 1-1. They went into extra-time and Chile had a shot that hit the crossbar. Brazil did not play very well in extra time. Both teams did their last sub in Extra-time. You get 3 subs a game. Extra time ended 1-1. Then came the penalty shoot out. Some people argue this is not the best way to decide a game. Penalties are highly intense and don't really show which is the best team. But here is what happened in the penalty shoot out with Brazil and chile. Brazil went first with David Luiz. He scored 1-0! Then Chile went with Pinilla who did not score1-0! Brazil: Willian X 1-0 Chile: Sanchez X 1-0 Brazil: Marcelo V 2-0 Chile: Aranguiz V 2-1 Brazil: Hulk X 2-1 Chile: Diaz V 2-2 Brazil: Neymar V 3-2Chile: Jara X 3-2. Here is how penalty shoot outs work. So at the start it is 0-0 in Penalties. But if someone scores it is 1-0 and like that. Both teams get 5 penalties. If it is still tied then they kee.p going until the tie is broken. So Brail barley barley barley won. It goes to show why I changed my predictions. Brazil needs to wake up.

This is one of the few games in the round of 16 that did not go into overtime. Colombia is an amazing team. They are better than Uruguay. They beat them 2-0. This game was closer than the France/Nigeria. Germany's Defense Played awful! Germany itself played bad but their defense was terrible ( no offense Mustafi ,Boateng, Mertesacker and Howedes :) They kinda kicked in in extra time. So all the standard time had 0 allowed goals. There was one offside Algerian goal. But in Extra time Schurrle scored for Germany at the 92'. Then Ozil scored again for Germany at the 120'. Right after that Algeria scored. It was a good goal. The game ended 2-1 with a struggling Germany making history and advancing to fight France.This is the first time Germany beat Algeria also the 3rd time they met. Algeria already made history by tying Russia to make it to the Knockout stage their first time in. About the terrible defense Neuer ( the German goalkeeper ) Came out of his box many times and acted like defense when their was no defense. It was lucky for him that the Algerian strikers did not get past him. His behavior was new and odd.
Netherlands

This was an amazing game. I wanted and expected Netherlands to win but it was closer than you would think. Mexico scored at the 48' right after half time with Giovanni. Robben ( Netherlands )got fouled in the first half in the box. I think it should have been a penalty. Anyway in the 2nd half the flying Dutchmen tried to sore over and over again but the Mexican keeper Ochoa was and is good. Mexico had their fair amount of shots too. The Mexicans were if you ask me getting to proud and not playing their hardest thinking the game was already over so, The Netherlands scored. At the 88' with Wesley Sneijder. It was an amazing goal. Then Robben got fouled in the box again at the 92' this time the ref called it a Penalty. Their was intense pressure on the taker Huntelaar. He came in for Robin Van Persie (one of the best players on the team) at the 76'. Then Huntelaar scored !!!! The great keeper dived the wrong way. This is the way the Dutch play :) what a come back!

Costa Rica played amazing in the Group stage until the game vs England. After they beat Italy I think they started to play worse. Their game vs Italy is their peak so far. The game vs Greece was real close. Costa Rica won their group and Greece made it second behind Colombia. Anyway Greece played hard. Costa rica scored at the 52' with Brain Ruiz. Costa Rica got a red card and many Yellows. They were so close to winning when Greece scored at the 91'. They went into overtime and no one scored. So they went into a Penalty shootout. Everybody scored until a Greek ( Gekas ) missed and the Costa Ricans scored. They won the Penalty shootout and the Game.
Argentina

This Game was also very close. I think most games here were so close but with the expected team winning. No goals were scored all the way into the 118' when Di Maria scored on an assist from Messi. The Swiss played hard and deserved to win. It also shows how bad Argentina is playing.
Belgium

One crazy thing happened when Suarez bit Chiellini . It was on June 24 when Uruguay beat Italy in an 1-0 game. Chiellini showed the Referee the bite mark on his shoulder but the ref did nothing about it. A video showed that he actually did bite him and FIFA banned Suarez for 9 matches.
Here are the Round of 16 game descriptions( it is so intense now that its the knockout stage):

This game was extremely close. Most people would say Brazil. For many reasons(i.e. Host, best team of all time). But it was not a landslide win. The Game went into overtime like most other games in the Round of 16. But lets start from the start. At the 18' Chile scored an own goal or as other people said David Luiz ( a defender ) scored his first goal for his country . My Opinion as I saw is an own goal but officially it is David Luiz who scored. Anyway at the 32' Alexis Sanchez scored when the Brazilian defense did a bad pass. There were many fouls and cards in this game. 51 fouls and 7 yellow cards all together ( mean ref ;). Both allowed goals were in the first half. In the Second half Hulk scored a goal at 55' but the Ref called a hand ball, disallowed the goal and gave hulk a yellow card. Both teams subbed twice in the second half. Standard time ended 1-1. They went into extra-time and Chile had a shot that hit the crossbar. Brazil did not play very well in extra time. Both teams did their last sub in Extra-time. You get 3 subs a game. Extra time ended 1-1. Then came the penalty shoot out. Some people argue this is not the best way to decide a game. Penalties are highly intense and don't really show which is the best team. But here is what happened in the penalty shoot out with Brazil and chile. Brazil went first with David Luiz. He scored 1-0! Then Chile went with Pinilla who did not score1-0! Brazil: Willian X 1-0 Chile: Sanchez X 1-0 Brazil: Marcelo V 2-0 Chile: Aranguiz V 2-1 Brazil: Hulk X 2-1 Chile: Diaz V 2-2 Brazil: Neymar V 3-2Chile: Jara X 3-2. Here is how penalty shoot outs work. So at the start it is 0-0 in Penalties. But if someone scores it is 1-0 and like that. Both teams get 5 penalties. If it is still tied then they kee.p going until the tie is broken. So Brail barley barley barley won. It goes to show why I changed my predictions. Brazil needs to wake up.

This is one of the few games in the round of 16 that did not go into overtime. Colombia is an amazing team. They are better than Uruguay. They beat them 2-0. This is the only game that I got wrong. Belgium played great. The Unites states of America did not play the best except for Timothy Mathew Howard. He played amazing in net. He beat the record of most saves in a game for united states keeper. He had 16 saves! He played his best and it was not really his fault that they lost. The United states has improved a lot though if they keep improving the Next world cup will most likely be at least a quarter final for them. The game was scoreless the whole standard time and Belgium scored 2 goals in extra time . USA scored 1 with a new 19 year old kid .

The knockout stage is ready. With U.S.A making it!!! They made it out with this scenario: Ghana as I wrongly perceived did not lose all their games they tied 1 vs Germany. Which also shows that I was wrong about Germany winning every game. So it came out like this.

More on the world cup and some soccer math
World cup Predictions
I wanted Spain to win it again but now they are out*. I want Germany, Belgium or the United States to win.I Most of all I want United states to win. I don't exactly know who would win and all that. But it will be pretty close . My Predictions will based on FIFA ranking, Math, How the teams have played so far and a little tiny bit on who I want to win :)
I will the predictions in my next world cup blog. But Brazil Netherlands France Germany and Colombia all have a shot at it.
* Spain lost 5-1 when they played The Netherlands. Chile vs Spain ended 2-0 for Chile. Spain is out. Their last game will be vs Australia. Even if they had beat Chile and beat Australia Making the knockout stage, they will still probably play Brazil in their first game of the knockout stage.

Recent awesome and surprising games
Netherlands vs Australia.
One of the best teams vs One of the very worse teams.
This at first glance is an obvious win for Netherlands. But as the game unfolded it turned out different like other games of this interesting World cup. Netherlands with Robben scored fist at the 20' but then 70 seconds later Tim Cahill scored a crossbar volley. This was Amazing. Did you hear who scored on Netherlands ? Australia!!! 30 or so minutes later an Australian hit the ball at a Netherlands Defender in the box and it was a Penalty ! At the 54' Australia scored ! They were winning. At the 58' and the 68' Van persie scored 2 more goals and The Flying Dutchmen were on top Again. The Game ended 3-2 With Netherlands barley escaping with victory. Australia played wonderful at this game.
Italy vs England
This was a good and close match. With 2 pretty good teams it usually is a close match. Italy scored first with Marchisio at the 35'. But England came back at the 37' with Sturridge. Right after halftime Italy scored with Balotelli. After this England could not score again. They lost 2-1.
United States vs Ghana
This was a rematch of the 2010 Round of 16. But it turned out better for our national team! At around 30 second into the game Clint Dempsey Scored for America! This was and still is the 6th or 5th fastest goal in world cup history and fastest goal in American history. The United states kept the lead for a long time. But they kept it around in their half and did not really try to score. They were not the best a passing either. So at the 82' Ghana scored with Ayew. But the United states natinaol team did not give up. They scored a goal at the 86' with John brooks. This saved the Americans. It ended 2-1. If they had lost this game they would have extremely small chance of getting to the knockout stage. They would have to win their next 2 games.
Belgium vs Algeria
This game was a real comeback. Algeria scored with a penalty at the 25' .Algeria kept the lead until the
70' in the second half. With Fellaini scoring a header. After that on a counterattack Belgium scored an amazing goal with Mertens.
Brazil vs Mexico
This was a surprising match. With Brazil the home team and winner of the most world cups they practically failed vs Mexico. Brazil had many opportunities but the Mexican keeper Ochoa played amazing. The game ended 0-0. Mexico is now tied with Brazil in their group but if they lose vs Croatia that could turn things around.
Argentina vs Bosnia and Herzegovina
This is Bosnia's first qualification. You'd think Argentinian star Messi would score at least 2 goals. But he did not. He either played a bad game or Bosnia played an amazing game. I think it was partly both. Bosnia did an unintentional own goal at the 3'. Then Messi scored at the 65'. Bosnia came back with 1 goal at the 85'. It ended a tight squeeze for Argentina 2-1. If there had been no own goal it would have been 1-1.
Chile vs Spain
This was a sad and surprising match. It ended 2-0. Spain has lost their magic. 4 years ago they let 2 goals in the whole world cup, both in the group stage. In the Knockout stage Spain won every game 1-0. Now they let 7 goals in their first 2 games. Something happened too the old Spain something terrible. Now there is this Spain who lost 2 games in a row. They are now out of the Tournament. They will have 1 more game vs Australia. The Australians played better than them vs the dutch. The World champions are now out. I think it was crazy they did not put Xavi in and they did not put Villa in. Diego Costa according to me should not be playing for Spain. Casillas also did not play like he did in 2010.
Uruguay vs England
This game was a missed chance for England. It started of with a goal from Uruguay's Suarez at the 39'. England kept having chances but none of them went in like Rooney's header at the 31' . But at last at the 75' Rooney scored. After that though Suarez scored again at the 85' ten minutes later. This goal looked offsides but the ball came from an English player, Gerard. You see it was passed by an Uruguayan player ( the keeper ) and it came off Gerard to Suarez. Now England is almost out of the World cup.
Italy vs Costa Rica
This was as I think more surprising than Argentina vs Bosnia & Herzegovina but here the " better " team lost. Here the team you would think better would be 4 world cup winners Italy. With Buffon, Pirlo, Balotelli, De Rossi and more. Well the Costa Ricans won yet another game after their 3-1 game vs Uruguay. These are amazingly good players. Costa Rica scored at the 44' with Brian Ruiz. Then they held the Italians back with their Offsides traps. Italy was Offsides 11 times ! The Costa Rican's outlasted the Italians with a final score of 1-0.

My opinion
So far who the best according to me
Well this World cup has been pretty new and surprising. It is on South American soil so European teams will not do their best. Anyway back to the point. I think Spain, Argentina, Italy and others are not playing like their reputation. This world cup will probably take place in Qatar an Island country off the Arabian Peninsula. But FIFA is not sure yet. FIFA is worried about Qatar's climate. Also the vote might have been bribed.
2026
They will probably change the way they choose the host in 2026. Not much is know about this cup.

I wanted Spain to win it again but now they are out*. I want Germany, Belgium or the United States to win.I Most of all I want United states to win. I don't exactly know who would win and all that. But it will be pretty close . My Predictions will based on FIFA ranking, Math, How the teams have played so far and a little tiny bit on who I want to win :)
I will the predictions in my next world cup blog. But Brazil Netherlands France Germany and Colombia all have a shot at it.
* Spain lost 5-1 when they played The Netherlands. Chile vs Spain ended 2-0 for Chile. Spain is out. Their last game will be vs Australia. Even if they had beat Chile and beat Australia Making the knockout stage, they will still probably play Brazil in their first game of the knockout stage.

Recent awesome and surprising games
Netherlands vs Australia.
One of the best teams vs One of the very worse teams.
This at first glance is an obvious win for Netherlands. But as the game unfolded it turned out different like other games of this interesting World cup. Netherlands with Robben scored fist at the 20' but then 70 seconds later Tim Cahill scored a crossbar volley. This was Amazing. Did you hear who scored on Netherlands ? Australia!!! 30 or so minutes later an Australian hit the ball at a Netherlands Defender in the box and it was a Penalty ! At the 54' Australia scored ! They were winning. At the 58' and the 68' Van persie scored 2 more goals and The Flying Dutchmen were on top Again. The Game ended 3-2 With Netherlands barley escaping with victory. Australia played wonderful at this game.
Italy vs England
This was a good and close match. With 2 pretty good teams it usually is a close match. Italy scored first with Marchisio at the 35'. But England came back at the 37' with Sturridge. Right after halftime Italy scored with Balotelli. After this England could not score again. They lost 2-1.
United States vs Ghana
This was a rematch of the 2010 Round of 16. But it turned out better for our national team! At around 30 second into the game Clint Dempsey Scored for America! This was and still is the 6th or 5th fastest goal in world cup history and fastest goal in American history. The United states kept the lead for a long time. But they kept it around in their half and did not really try to score. They were not the best a passing either. So at the 82' Ghana scored with Ayew. But the United states natinaol team did not give up. They scored a goal at the 86' with John brooks. This saved the Americans. It ended 2-1. If they had lost this game they would have extremely small chance of getting to the knockout stage. They would have to win their next 2 games.
Belgium vs Algeria
This game was a real comeback. Algeria scored with a penalty at the 25' .Algeria kept the lead until the
70' in the second half. With Fellaini scoring a header. After that on a counterattack Belgium scored an amazing goal with Mertens.
Brazil vs Mexico
This was a surprising match. With Brazil the home team and winner of the most world cups they practically failed vs Mexico. Brazil had many opportunities but the Mexican keeper Ochoa played amazing. The game ended 0-0. Mexico is now tied with Brazil in their group but if they lose vs Croatia that could turn things around.
Argentina vs Bosnia and Herzegovina
This is Bosnia's first qualification. You'd think Argentinian star Messi would score at least 2 goals. But he did not. He either played a bad game or Bosnia played an amazing game. I think it was partly both. Bosnia did an unintentional own goal at the 3'. Then Messi scored at the 65'. Bosnia came back with 1 goal at the 85'. It ended a tight squeeze for Argentina 2-1. If there had been no own goal it would have been 1-1.
Chile vs Spain
This was a sad and surprising match. It ended 2-0. Spain has lost their magic. 4 years ago they let 2 goals in the whole world cup, both in the group stage. In the Knockout stage Spain won every game 1-0. Now they let 7 goals in their first 2 games. Something happened too the old Spain something terrible. Now there is this Spain who lost 2 games in a row. They are now out of the Tournament. They will have 1 more game vs Australia. The Australians played better than them vs the dutch. The World champions are now out. I think it was crazy they did not put Xavi in and they did not put Villa in. Diego Costa according to me should not be playing for Spain. Casillas also did not play like he did in 2010.
Uruguay vs England
This game was a missed chance for England. It started of with a goal from Uruguay's Suarez at the 39'. England kept having chances but none of them went in like Rooney's header at the 31' . But at last at the 75' Rooney scored. After that though Suarez scored again at the 85' ten minutes later. This goal looked offsides but the ball came from an English player, Gerard. You see it was passed by an Uruguayan player ( the keeper ) and it came off Gerard to Suarez. Now England is almost out of the World cup.
Italy vs Costa Rica
This was as I think more surprising than Argentina vs Bosnia & Herzegovina but here the " better " team lost. Here the team you would think better would be 4 world cup winners Italy. With Buffon, Pirlo, Balotelli, De Rossi and more. Well the Costa Ricans won yet another game after their 3-1 game vs Uruguay. These are amazingly good players. Costa Rica scored at the 44' with Brian Ruiz. Then they held the Italians back with their Offsides traps. Italy was Offsides 11 times ! The Costa Rican's outlasted the Italians with a final score of 1-0.
