Some thoughts from Black Belt in Freedom

So I am taking the Black Belt in Freedom class by Dr. Oliver Demille. It has us read a bunch of classic books that have to do with freedom, so far I have read Turn the Page, We Hold These Truths to be Self Evident , The Declaration of Independence and am now reading The Law. Turn the Page explained how to read books like a leader, some of the things you need to do are: write in your books, have questions as you read , have a plan , think about the words and how they relate to you plan and problems, read the classics, write words you don't know in the front or back of the book, and write an outline of the book in the front or back of the book. We Hold These Truths to be Self Evident explains that there are natural laws, that are higher than man-made law, 12 of them, those 12 are not being followed by Modern Governments ( including the U.S. ) , and the solution to the political issues and problems of today is to have Government follow natural Law and the people to follow it also, the 4 most important things you can do to help this ( in the U.S.) are: 1st spread the word ,2nd engage in your local government , 3rd vote for a natural law adhering representative and ask him or her to follow natural law when in office and ,4th vote for a president who goes against natural to the least degree, ( because all recent presidents have gone against natural law ). I have told my representative ( Seth Moulton ) to follow natural law and work to help the U.S. Government follow natural Law. I have also petitioned ( I can't vote yet ) for a presidential candidate who will go against natural law the least, I have gone to a Republican town committee meeting in my town , and am now spreading the word. I really hope you get this book ( you can get it here ) and read it, pleeeaassee! The Declaration of Independence is a legal document explaining to the world that , yes that are going against British ( man-made) law but they are staying in accordance with higher ( natural ) law and that the British government is going against natural law. Also the  Declaration  states the natural law that they are adhering to ( in the starting ) and a list of the things that the British government has done that goes against natural law. There are 3 ways to analyze the declaration: 1 Historically, 2 structurally/terminology, and to analyze the Principles and Truths that are eternal and that are found in it (The 3rd way is the most important). The Declaration is true and has eternal truths in it , just like the Scriptures, these things are not outdated , and if you go against the eternal truths found in The Declaration you will be going back to the time before The Declaration with a monarchy or something else tyrannical like it. Is you go against the scriptures you will be unhappy, and ( if you do not repent ) will go to spirit prison , and ( if you still don't repent ) then you will go NOT go to the celestial kingdom and you will NOT receive exaltation. The Law is written by a French political philosopher named Frederic Bastiat and it explains that government and law has strayed from what it is supposed to be ( "the organization of individual right and individual defense "( collective self defense) " if it were the obstacle... to all oppression, to all plunder"pg 10 ) and has become an instrument of legal plunder, through tariffs, progressive taxation, free public education, ect. ( combined it is called socialism ). In the law he also says Socialism professes that the law should not only to protect the unalienable rights of individuals but that it should " extend well-being,instruction, and morality, directly over the nation ", but as Bastiat points out this is not possible, either government ( force ) is organized justice ( keeping men free ) or it is organized human activity: labor, education, industry are some examples. You can't force people to do things outside of respecting and not infringing on other peoples inalienable rights ( and you can't use force outside of promoting national security) that does not protect their inalienable right to Liberty, and you can't take one group of peoples money ( that they rightfully earned ), and give it to another group , that did not earn or work for it without infringing on the inalienable right of property. So you can't have socialism without infringing on peoples inalienable God given rights ( socialism makes the people not free ) , which is against natural law and leads the nation to decline. So Obamacare, and progressive taxation infringe on peoples inalienable rights and lead the nation to decline.

Sherlock Holmes

I read Sherlock Holmes recently before Robinson Crusoe. I read the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes ,  The Hound of Baskervilles and the Return of Sherlock Holmes. They were pretty good, Sherlock was very good at observing , inducing and determining things. One of my favorite stories was the Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle where a precious blue gem was stolen, and then shoved down the neck of a goose. The Goose traveled for some time and finally ended up at the table of one of Sherlock's Friends. Sherlock does the job for the love of it and rarely gets money , but sometimes when he works for rich people ( for example the Duke of Holderness ) he gets money. Sherlock supposedly dies in the adventure of the final problem, while also taking Professor Moriarty ( the leader of crime in London ) down with him. It happened on the edge of a water fall, when Dr. Watson ( Sherlock's dear friend ) left to go supposedly help a ill person at a nearby town. But there was no ill person and the letter had been a fake to take him away from Holmes. When Watson got back he saw that there was a scuffle of footsteps, and a note ( that was written by Holmes ) that confirmed his death . When Watson had left Holmes he had seen a black figure walking towards him. Basically it seemed that Moriarty had fought with Holmes and they had gone over the edge, into the waterfall. But , as it turned out  in the return of Sherlock Holmes , He had not fallen over and had escaped. But before the return of Sherlock Holmes there is the Hound of Baskervilles. Arthur Conan Doyle actually had help on this one from his friend Mr. Fletcher Robinson. Here is a quick summary: A Dr. Mortimer comes into Sherlock's place at baker street. He tells him about the Baskervilles and about the legend of the Hound. Then he goes on to talk about the recent death of Sir Charles Baskerville ( who was a friend of his ) and how his face was very distorted, and how there were no injury marks on him. There were hound footprints twenty yards away from him , and the footprints that led to the body changed midway as if he had started running. Also he had waited at a spot before this. The Last know Baskerville , Sir Henry, came up to live in Baskerville hall. After some time Sherlock discovers that there really was a hound, and that he had sulfur and glowing paints on him to make him seem surreal, as he was in the legend. The hound was kept by a Mr. Stapelton , who was actually a Baskerville and had changed his name twice. He wanted to kill off all the others with his hound , and then claim the hall. He had died though, in the swamp , by getting fully covered in the bog. Sherlock and his friends had shot the hound dead also. In the return of Sherlock Holmes, Holmes makes himself known too Watson and explains how he had not fallen and escaped. He had written the note , thinking that he really would die. But then when he and Moriarty had wrestled, Sherlock slipped away from him when they were on the brink, and Moriarty fell and died while Holmes survived . Holmes then realized , if everyone thought he was dead, then the followers of Moriarty would not try to kill him . So instead of going back down the path and making tracks , that would signify he had survived, he climbed the rock face next to him. He laid on top of it and waited for Watson to come and go. But then a large boulder rolled next to him and he looked up. He saw a man's face above him & another boulder fell past him. Moriarty had not come alone and his friend was throwing rocks at Holmes for revenge. Holmes started down the rock face, and another boulder went past him. It was extremely hard going down, and halfway down he slipped and fell miraculous on the path and not in the falls. He quickly got up " torn and bleeding ...I took to my heels, did ten miles over the mountains in the darkness , and a week later I found myself in Florence "*. After this he had  some more great adventures, and landed Colonel Moran in the hand of the police. Colonel Moran was the man who had thrown boulders at Holmes and many other dreadful things. The book ends with the Adventure of the second stain, where a letter was lost , that if publicized would lead to war. Holmes found that the wife of the person who had kept it safe had taken it and given it to an European secret agent , in exchange for some other letters. The man had died though shortly after the exchange ( he had hidden the letter under a rug under a trapdoor. ) by the hands of some other woman. Then she had taken the letter when she realized how important it was and gave it to Holmes who put it back in the box it had been before. There were about 625 pages of reading.

Robinson Crusoe

I recently read Robinson Crusoe. It was a book about a 18 yr old that grew up in England while one of his parents was a foreigner that came to England. His parents and friends all wanted him to settle down as a lawyer in England, but Robinson wanted to go out to sea . His father had a talk with him about how the middle class was the best and they did not need to go out and risk their lives ( that that was only for the poor or rich )  and that he should just settle down. Robinson was moved by this , but after a while ( when his friend came and persuaded him to come on a journey with him on a ship ) he left ( he was 19 or older by now ). On this voyage there was a bit of a gale , for the crew , but for Crusoe it seemed like a full storm. He was terrified that they would go down any minute and made vows that he would go home a soon as he could if he survived the gale. His friend gave him some rum and soon after the gale subsided to a calm sea. Robinson decided not to keep the vows and when he was thinking about it he drank some rum ( he was wicked when he was young ). Soon after though there was a really terrible storm, and all the crew was sure it would go down any minute. Crusoe was scared and he went to the pump to pump out water. They got in a boat and left their ship. Soon after their ship capsized. Another ship found them and they got into it. They took this ship to shore. At shore Crusoe met the captain ( whop was his friends father ) and told him about he had left against his fathers will. At this the captain was mad and told him it was his fault they had lost their ship and said he would not take a man like him for 1000 pounds, then told Robinson to go back to his father. Robinson got a ship back to London, but he did not stay long, for there were some men who were going to Guinea in Africa to get rich, and Crusoe joined them. They went to guinea and got a lot of money from gold and things. This was successful so Robinson Crusoe wanted to do it again. He did go on a ship to Guinea, But they were attacked by the Moors and taken prisoner or executed. Robinson stayed a slave for the moors for a long time. His master went on fishing trips and took Crusoe with him since he was very good at fishing. One day there was a fog and they got lost, They did not really have any provisions in the boat and the master got worried. They made it back to shore though and the master ordered the ship to be furnished with more provision and made into a seaworthy boat with a sail .  After this , the Moor master was going to have some guests over to fish, so he ordered more provisions added and also guns into the boat , for they might hunt game on land also. But it turned out that the guests did not come, and Robinson Crusoe, a Moor servant and a moor boy went fishing. They went out to deep waters and then Robinson forced the Moor servant to leave and the boy promised to be his slave. So with the provisions , and guns in a sturdy vessel they went south ( where Robinson hoped he woulds find some English colonies  , or European ships ). So though their water ran out and they were forced to land at shore. They found a stream and got some fresh water there. There came in the night some animals , but Crusoe scared them off with his gun. Once they landed for water and found a lion sleeping at the riverside. They killed hit and took its hide to lay on. Another time they found some natives, and then a Leopard came , and Robinson shot it. He gave them it and asked for the skin, they agreed, and he set of. Soon he was ear the cape Verde islands and found a Portuguese ship headed for Brazil. When he got on they spoke to him in 4 different languages which he did not know, but finally there was a Scotsman who hailed him. The captain was very nice and bought his boat and hides for a good deal of money. When they came to Brazil ,  The captain offered to start him in the plantation business, and then offered to have half his money from England turned into tools for the trade and have them brought here. Crusoe agreed, and he had a good start to his plantation business . In 4 years he made a lot of money, learned the Portuguese language and was well off. But he realized this was the middle class station and was what he ran away from. So when a group of plantation owners decided to go on a trip to Africa to get some slaves for their plantations , Robinson agreed. They set off but after a while there was a terrible storm that blew them where they knew not, and when they sighted land they should get in a boat and go there , they rowed towards the rock though and knew they were going to die. But then a giant wave crashed them under and Crusoe barely made it to the surface in time ( before he suffocated ) , and then was pushed under again, He swam ,and fought the stormy sea and tried to get to shore . Finally he made it and lay there exhausted, after a while he went and found a thorny tree which he slept in ( to be safe if the were predators on the land, though there actually turned out to be none ). When he woke up he saw that the ship was driven in the water nearby , and he swam to it. There were many things he could use and he gathered some of them, ( guns, powder , shot , food, clothes and sail canvas ) he went about and made a raft from the boards of the ship ( he also got some nails and tools ) to take his things to shore with. He found a creek and drove his laden raft down it and landed in a cove. Then he went up a hill ( armed, and with much labor ) and discovered he was on an island ( more precisely the island of Trinidad ). On top of thew hill he also found that the island was uninhabited by humans. He came down and worked the rest of the day to get his cargo of his raft and onto the shore ( many of the things were in chests ). He Barricaded himself and went to sleep. The next day he swam to the ship again, gathered useful things again , made a raft again and took the cargo to shore again. On shore he made a tent out of the sail canvas and poles or sticks. He blocked it with chests on the outside and went to sleep. He went to the ship and got more resources 10 more times, and on the last one a storm was starting. He went back to his tent and the storm blew all night. The next day when he woke up to find the ship gone, he was glad he had taken so much from it when he could. His place where the tent was not a good place for settlement ( because it did not have any fresh water near and it was on low ground , this being bad for defenses against the natives who may come to the island ), So he set out to find a good place. He found one, a raised up piece of flat land on the side of a hill with a slight hollow spot in the rock of the hill. He drew a half circle that connected to the wall of the sheer rock and set about making stakes and driving two rows of them on the half circle , and then filled up the space between them with cable ( from the ship ) and more stakes. He then made a ladder to let him get over his wall , Every time he went into his fortification he pulled the ladder into it with him so no one could come in after him. He brought in all his goods with a lot of work and then made a double tent ( one small one in a large one ).  He brought his food into the tent so the rain might not spoil it, after this he started making the hollow larger. Time passed in this work and he made a small cave behind his tent. One night there was a thunderstorm and he was worried for his powder , lest it should be hit be lightning and explode and burn. Without the powder he would not be able to hunt and defend himself very well, and also if it exploded he might have died. After this he made many small compartments and separated his powder into these and put them in many different places. Each day he went out with his gun and hunted, for he had found some wild goats, they were fast though and he had to attack them in a valley from above. Robinson Crusoe went on living on the island for 27 or so years, and ( since there was a bible there which he had taken from the ship and read it ) changed to a more hard working good man. He made many advancements on his island home, some are: another home inland , a herd of domestic goats ( he tamed some and then bred them ) , and a wheat field that gave him bread ( he made a process that required a lot of work to make bread ). He discovered that native cannibals sometimes came to the island to eat after a victory in war. At first he wanted to kill them for the savage acts , but then realized they probably did not know that their acts were wrong, so he did not try to kill them . Then a few years before he left , a party of natives came , and one of their prisoners ( for eating ) escaped, Crusoe saw this and helped the escaped prisoner by killing one of the savages that chased him ( he had only 2 chasers on him ) and knocking out the other . The escaped native thanked Robinson mightily and then ( after asking Crusoe for his cutlass, which Robinson gave him ) cut of the now semi-conscious cannibal that had chased him. The escaped native made signs that he would be Crusoe 's slave forever, and Robinson told him his name was now Friday. Crusoe inspired fear and awe in Friday by using his gun, and Friday helped Robinson a lot. He also made Friday more civilized and taught him the christian protestant faith. After some while there came a cannibal party with a white man prisoner with them, Crusoe and Friday attacked them ( killed or wounded most of them and only 3 or 4 got away ) with guns ( For Friday had learned to use them ) and saved the White man. They also found another prisoner who was Friday's father! Friday was overjoyed to see him , and took great care of him. The white man turned out to be a Spaniard, and he and Friday's father became helpers of Crusoe. Robinson learned that there were a group of Spaniards and Portuguese with Fridays people, who had been shipwrecked. Crusoe told the Spaniard and Friday's Father to go to them and ask them if they would come to the island.  Robinson hoped they might be able to make a ship with more hands. While they were gone, a ship came and landed on the island. Crusoe and Friday were in their fortification and saw it with a spy glass. They saw that it was an English ship and that the men who came out were English ( mostly ). There were 3 men that seemed prisoners of the rest. The other men left these three on the shore , and went to sleep in the forest. Robinson came and talked to them with Friday. It turned out that they were the captain and a couple of his trusted followers, who had been taken prisoner in a mutiny. They were going to be abandoned on this island while the mutinous crew went away. Crusoe and some others took the mutinous men on the island captive and after a not so short fight with more men on the ship, they took the ship. The captain promised to follow Robinson's orders,  the leaders of the mutinous gang were left on the island ( Crusoe taught them how to survive with the improvements he had made , and told them to be nice and live with the Spaniards and others who came ) , and Robinson, Friday and the rest went to England. He had been gone 35 years, and he was a stranger to everyone, except one or two close friend(s). He went to Portugal and back ( on his way back his party met some wolves ) because the captain of that ship which had long ago taken him in , was there. In Portugal he arranged that he would get some money from his plantation  with the captain. The book ends soon after he gets back to England.  It showed how a not so righteous man can become good after a long time in isolation and hard work.

Note : some things might be incorrect , but it should mostly be right.

Recent learning and other things

Recent learning

Recent reading
Recently I have read the Hero's guide series. Book's 1,2 and 3. Here is some stuff about book 1: This series is made around making fun of Prince charming and some fairy tails. It changes them and combines them into an crazy and funny series. This book introduces the characters and tells us the real names of the prince's charming. Liam,Gustav,Duncan and Frederic. Liam is the Prince charming from Sleeping beauty, Gustav from Rapunzel, Duncan from snow white and Frederic from Cinderella.

I also have been reading the Rangers apprentice series. Its a series placed in medieval fantasy land of Araluen, Scandia Teutland, Gallica , Temujai , Celtia and more.  These countries and people's probably are based on real modern day countries. Araluen probably being England ( I don't see any name reason here but i think it is england beacuse of the Longbows and some other things ) , Scandia most likely being Scandinavia( you can see the oblivious name reason here), Teutlandt probably Germany ( the name reason is probably from the Teutonic knights and Deutschland ,see how it ends with land? ), Gallica might be France ( Here it is most likely because of the Gauls )and Temujai ( I can not really see the name reason here besides it is Asian. But I think it is the mongols because the guy who started the Temujai  is called something close to Temuchin the name of Genghis khan and the leaders are called Shan close to Khan  ) the Mongols or the Huns or combined. But most likely the Mongols. The Main Character is will a young orphan at the starting and then finds out his Dad died bravely and strongly on the battle field. He lived in Castle Redmont as a ward. Wards lived In castle Redmont until they were 15 or so and then they could be chosen to be an apprentice to one of the craftmasters. Will had ward comrades: Horace, Jenny, Alyss and George. Horace got to be a Warrior apprentice , Jenny a cook apprentice, Alyss a Diplomat apprentice and George a scribe apprentice. But will , none of the official craftmasters wanted him. If no one would accept you as an apprentice you would have to go work as a farmer. But Will got excepted by Halt the fief's ( a place under control of a Baron and with his knights protected the Farmer. There were other Fief's and they all listened to the King of Arualen. This was where Will lived. The king's name was Duncan. ) Ranger. Rangers were a mystery to ordinary low ranking People. These people thought the did black magic. But what the Kings Rangers were and actually did was not his. The Rangers were an Elite scout team that were expert archers and knife throwers. They could spy on the enemy and see what they were doing. They were experts at moving without being seen and at tracking. Rangers were Rangers. They wore the Oak leaf to show that they were actual rangers. Bronze meant Apprentice and silver meant senior. Halt was a highly esteemed ranger he had lead the army when they beat Morgarath and evil villain. But he still existed. Anyway Will spent hour after hour day after day training with is Bow and knives. He also practiced Camouflage ( Rangers wore Ranger clocks , green and gray things ) keeping unseen, tracking and reading maps. Once Will , Halt, Horace and some Knights went Boar hunting. There were 2 boars but the y thought there was only one. After the first one had been killed the second dashed at Will. Will dived , Rolled , jumped and shot arrows at it. But this boar could not be killed unless an arrow hit his heart. Will missed every time and was just about to be killed when Halt shot it right in the heart killing it. After this Will went on to Kill a Kalkalra a (fearsome enemy that was only scared of fire . These Kalkara were enlisted by Morgarath the evil lord who goes on to almost beat the Araluen army with his army of Wargals. Also fearsome enemies ( their weakness being Calvary ) , but not as strong as the kalkara. These Kalkara were assassins . The hypnotized anyone close to them and then could kill them. ) by shooting a flaming arrow at it burning it. Will also burned a bridge that was vital to the Araluen win at the Plains of Uthal.

Below you can read some of the actual History.

Recent science
I have been learning a lot about chemistry. You can see half of some of the stuff I learned here here and here. I will be coming up with the second half soon with stuff about Biochemistry, pH ,acids, bases Nuclear chemistry and much more. I also have been learning some cool facts at Joppa flatts , like how to tell a green crab from an Asian shore crab,Sea stars have a brain at each foot, Sea urchins and sea stars are both Echinoderms (phylum) and are related and Moon snails eat other smaller snails called periwinkles by wrapping themselves around them, dropping acid , drilling a hole through them and sucking them up! Another cool fact is that sea stars eat with their stomachs. You can read more about Joppa flats in the Other things/joppa flats section of this post.

Fast fact!
Saturn had the most moons, At least 25. While Venus has no moons.

Recent History and Recent Geography
History
I have not been doing much on History recently besides the world cup. I am going to publish the blog: Some History ( I changed World History since 1300 to this ), that includes The Huns,Vikings,Goths and Mongols; Early medieval Japan,Korea and China;Summary of the Story of the World 1,2,3 and 4 and more! Here are some sneak peaks.

Huns,Vikings,Goths and Mongols
here is a link to the downfall of Rome, I wrote last year, it has some information on the Huns and Goths.
 Huns:
In the late 300's the Huns attacked Europe from western Asia, east of Europe. Eastern Europeans/Romans were terrified of them. The Huns raided and destroyed settlements. To make themselves even scarier than they were they slashed their faces( ouch ), And wore weird ragged clothes. The Huns were nomads ( people who moved from place to place always setting and taking down tents. They had no home. ) and expert horsemen.

#2 Rich leaders of the Huns wore jewelry to show they were rich. One jewelry item was the fibula , The Fibula was like a pin , it was usually made out of gold and had gems in them.

Vikings:
The Vikings started in 793 and ended in 1066 ( this period is called the viking age ). The vikings came from Scandinavia, a region in Northern Europe that includes Norway,Denmark,Sweden and Finland ( not to many vikings in Finland though ). The Vikings were fearsome war crazy raiders. They were also explores( expert navigators) and amazing shipbuilders. The vikings traded,Explored,Raided and Colonized many places

Raiding and wars
The first viking raid ( outside Scandinavia ) was against England. England was raided by Vikings from Denmark. They raided a monastery called  St. Cuthbert's monastery off the eastern coast of England. The day it happened was the start of the viking age 7/19/793 AD.

Peaceful life and Exploration
Back at home in Scandinavia they led mostly non warlike lives ( but they did fight and raid each other ever so often ). They lived in houses with large central rooms made out of wood. They had a hole in the roof for the smoke from a fire, that burned inside the house (  to give light for these houses rarely had windows. It was probably also used for cooking) to go out.

Goths:

Mongols:

Early medieval Japan,Korea and China

Around the 500's Japan was divided into many different clans. One of these Clans , the Yamato Clan, was stronger than the others. The Yamato clan wanted to conquer the other clans and rule Japan.

Geography
I have been doing postcrossing. In this you send and receive postcards to and from other countries. I have recieved 7 ( Germany, Australia, Canada, Russia, Finland and other places) post cards and have sent 5(Russia,China, Germany, USA, Belarus/Russia ). I also have been doing stack the states and stack the countries. I think we have beat them. I made a flag map some months ago, you can see it here.
Recent Math
I have been doing Khan academy for math here is an update for all the math I have been doing.

I put a progresses report here and it keeps going away

I am 3 skills away from mastering 5th grade. The recently added a lot of things for early math. This is preschool,kindergarten,1st grade and 2nd grade. You see though it shows that I have not mastered some of it. I don't think I should bother with things I already know and should keep learning( and believe me I know early math ).

Other Things

Joppa Flats
I recently joined the Joppa flatts staff as a volunteer. Here I clean caterpillar cages, Help people with crafts, Talk to them and help them hold creatures in the touch tank and other things. I like it there, I usually stay from around 9:00  to around  3:00. Then I come home. Joppa flats teaches you all about Sea creatures and many other things in science.

Winnetou

I have recently finished reading the first book of Winnetou. It is by Karl May a German writer. It was about a German Immigrant that became a Experienced westerner and becomes a friend with a Native American.

Story:
The story starts with the German Immigrant ( Charles ) in America. He is a babysitter. But then a gunsmith finds out that he can ride a horse and do other western things very good. So they sent him to a place in Arizona to Survey the land and get it ready for a railroad. Charles went to Arizona with a group of Westerners and Survey men. He was called a greenhorn. ( which means he is new to something ) He worked and Worked while the rest of the Survey team was lazy. Other Survey teams were leaving. Charles got into a fight and knocked out the a Westerner. This gave him the nickname Old Shatterhand. He went on a Buffalo hunt and killed his first buffalo. Then he went and Caught a Mustang -Mule. He Kept working. One day they went to the place where He had shot the Buffalo. They found a Grizzly Bear. Everyone else ran away from it, But Old Shatterhand shot the Grizzly in the Eyes and stabbed it and killed. Then a white man who had lived with the Native Americans , a great Chief of the Apaches and his son came upon the whites camp. The Chief told the leader of the Surveyors to leave this place because he owned it. The white man who lived with the Native Americans told Old Shatterhand to be a friend with Winnetou the chiefs son. Then the Westerner that Old Shatterhand had knocked out shot the white man who lived with the Native Americans. The chief and his son left to get a army to fight the Whites. Old Shatterhand found some Kiowas ( Enemy's of the Apaches ) and told them to bring many soldiers to his camp. They came and waited the Arrival of the Apaches. They came and lost the battle. The chief and Winnetou were taken captive. Old Shatterhand freed them. They went back to there own land to get more warriors. The Apaches came and took the camp over. They made the alive Whites Prisoners to be put to death. Old Shatterhand was to try to swim across a river before the Apache chief hit him with a Tomahawk. Old Shatterhand pretended that he barley knew how to swim and when he hit water he dived under. Then he swam underwater upstream. Then came out at a overhanging. Everyone though he had drowned and they searched down stream for him. He swam to the other side and said he won . The Apache chief was mad and he ran after him. He threw the Tomahawk and missed. Then Old Shatterhand knocked him out. They said Old Shatterhand had won and he and his three friends were free. But the murder of the white man who had lived with the Native Americans was to be killed. They killed him and buried the white man who had lived with the Native Americans. Old Shatterhand became a friend of the Native Americans. They went back to the east. There some thief killed the Chief. Winnetou and Old Shatterhand set out to revenge the death. THE END of Winnetou 1

In desert and wilderness.

I recently finished reading this book called In desert and wilderness.
This book is about two European descent children who live in Egypt while the Suez canal was being built because their fathers were engineers working on it. The children get captured and are taken through east Africa. They endure many hard ships. I will make a summary of the book right now:

These two children called Stas and Nell lived in Egypt with their fathers. But one day they got kidnapped by some Sudanese and Arabs. These people were faithful to this Mahdi or religious leader who wants to take over the world. But he was only in Sudan fighting the Egyptians. The Egyptians had colonized Sudan because the British had ordered it. The Egyptian government was a protectorate of the British. Stas and Nell rode camel back over desert and jungle to Sudan where they met the Mahdi. The Mahdi asked them to follow him. Stas replied no and The Mahdi ordered them on a journey to another city that was ruled by the Mahdi. The journey was harsh like the desert jouney. When they got there they were told to meet with another Sudanese man named Smain. They went into the jungle to searched for him. When they met a lion the Arabs and the Sudanese did not know how to shoot a new rifle that belonged to Stas. They had took it from him. Stas took the Rifle and shot the Lion then he shot the Arabs and Sudanese. Stas and Nell procided with a Mastiff and two slaves that had belonged too Nell and the Sudanese. They went along through the Eastern Congo. Eating antelopes and whatever game they could find. They also ate fruit. They found an Elephant trapped by rock and tamed him. Nell got a fever and Stas found a Swiss man that had Medicine for fever. The Swiss man then died. Stas blew up the rock and freed the elephant. Stas and Nell found a mountain and went into it it had plenty of provisions. They lived there and sent kites made of paper that the Swiss had given  them and made out of fish bladder membranes. Then they went on eastward towards the Indian Ocean. They passed through many Villages with black people and scared them into submission with guns and the elephant. Then they helped the people of one of their friends( the slaves left over from the Sudanese) Then they got hundreds of men from the village and set of for the coast. But they came to a place where no water was and they soon ran out of water. They almost died. But a kite had been found by a European led caravan. They saved the day. When they had been fed and they drunk water they went to sleep. They met their Fathers on a coastal city for a message had been sent that they were still alive.

The Hobbit:
By : J.R.R Tolkien

About: This book is about a hobbit
named Bilbo Baggins going on an
adventure with some Dwarves and a
wizard named Gandalf . The set out

treasure from a dragon named Smaug
that lived on the lonely mountain. Smaug
had taken the mountain a long time ago and
killed most of the Dwarves living there.
He chased the others away and took
their treasure for himself. Thorin the
heir to the throne of the mountain had
escaped with a few others that were not
in the mountain at the time. Bilbo travelled
with Thorin and his company of Dwarves to
take the mountain back. They encountered many
dangers like goblins and spiders , but at last they
made it to the mountain. but they could not
figure out how to kill the loathsome dragon .
I will not tell you how it ends.

Recent books i have read and am reading

Crispin: the cross of lead.
I liked this book Beacuse
it was situated in the Medival
Era . I like historical books
Its about a innocent peasant
boy who is actually the heir to his lord .
His lord wanted to kill him but he escaped
and found a man nicknamed Bear. I wont tell
you how it ends , But it is a good book.

Poppy
I liked this book because it was all animals talking
like Redwall. I also liked this book beacuse their
is a raptor in it, a owl. It has a good ending .

The key & the flame
This book was great Because it was fantasy like LOTR and Redwall.
But this book was like Narnia not LOTR and Redwall.
A kid comes from America to England and is presented a magic key . The kid
Uses it to unlock an oak with two freinds and goes into a magical
world. Their are centaurs ,dwarfs and leogriffs ( leogriffs have a body of a black
leopard and the wings and talons of a eagle) Their were also Falco peregrinus or should i saw Peregrine falcons. The kid finds a golden Salamander the can make fire.

the sixty eight rooms (the adventures of the sixty eight rooms)
This book was not may favorite , but it was OK. The story is about this kid that gets shrunk with another kid and go into miniature rooms. They have all kinds of adventures their and their is a happy ending .

lately i have been reading books by Brandon Mull. Brandon Mull was my dads room mate at BYU.   i have already read the Fabelhaven series and now i am reading his other series (i love them !):the candy shop wars and Beyonders. i have read both candy shop war books , two beyonders  and am now on the last book of the Beyonders . the beyonders is about this boy called Jason who was one day swallowed by a hippo, but instead of being digested he slid through a tunnel and came out in another world called Lyrian . there he wants to go home but by accident ends up opposing the evil emperor Maldor . Maldor has a lot of power and tracks Jason down wherever he goes with evil shadows called Lurkers . Jason meets a rebel in secret hiding called Galloran . he also meet another person from his world (which people from Lyrian call the Beyond)called Rachel . Jason,Rachel, Galloran and other trusty servants start a rebellion in secret by pursing a deadly word that is said to destroy Maldor . after a lot of struggling Jason at last spoke the word in the presence of Maldor .BUT IT WAS FAKE . after Jason said it it was erased from his memory and he is put in the dungeons . but escapes and gets back to his world . that's the end of the first book . in the second book Jason goes back to Lyrian and tells Galloran and Rachel that the word is false . so they all go gathering supporters . then they go to a Oracle that tells them what to do and that's the end of the second book . the third book is just now itching to be read so bye !.

The Lord or the Rings Trilogy

I have just finished reading the lord of the rings series.

You know that they are 8th grader series and I’m a 4th grader, but I was able to understand it fine.
They were fun books and my favorite parts where when Sam attacked Shelob ,when Gimli  and Legolas were playing a game in which they trying to see who could kill the most orcs, when Gollum fell into the cracks of Mt. Doom, when Aragon came and helped Gondor to win the first battle, when everyone celebrated their victory over Saruon and when Eomer met Aragon on the battlefield .
I learned that if you’re in tough times you should never give up hope and that if you’re small and weak it doesn’t mean you can’t do amazing things. The hobbits in this book are a great example.
Here are some of my pictures from the series.
the house of Gondor includes Boromir prince of Gondor (top left), Farimir steward of Gondor (top right )and Denathor king of Gondor (bottom right)
here is Denathor(playMobil version) top left, Thedon  (playMobil version),top center,a soldier of  Gondor (top right),Thedon king of Rhohan (bottom left) and Eomer prince of Rhohan
