Star Wars Adventure - and some Math

This is a story that could have happened in the Phantom Menace (Star Wars I).

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn have settled down in a space shape that they thought was good, but it is controlled by the Separatists.
Battle droids came tumbing into the Jedi's room. Obi-wan Kenobi reflected a shot that went to the ceiling and then reflected back and hit the droid.
Qui-gon Jinn reflected a laser bolt from another droid and then the droid exploded.

But there was a really strong Droidex with a force field around it. But it's force field only deflects lasers so Obi-wan Kenobi jumped from up above the droidex and let go of his light sabre which wasn’t on, and it hit the Droidex and then turned on and cut him and…

BOOOM!
It exploded and Obi-wan fell off. Luckily he caught his light sabre again.

Next they looked around the ship and found a room with the 2 creatures that controlled the droids. They tried to get the through them, but one of the Nemoidian’s used the controls to close the doors. Qui-gon and Obi-wan started going through, but then the Nemoidian shot laser blasts at them. Qui-gon deflected the blast with his light sabre, but Obi-wan was grazed by the blast. Obi-wan was trying to hold the doors so Qui-gon, could get through, but Qui-gon told him “Use the force Obi-wan.”

Obi-wan used the force so strong that all the doors opened and the controls exploded and the Nemoidian too. The other Nemoidian was captured by Qui-gon.

They went through the palce and saw a star-ship, but there was a droid protecting it. Qui-gon got inside safely and Obi-wan amlost got hit again. But an imperial spy saw that Obi-wan and Qui-gon had gotten safely away..

The bad Separatist spaceship hit their ship with a beam that damaged it. So Obi-wan Kenobi had to get up and fix it.

When he was up their he saw one of the biggest laser blasts he had ever seen above his head. It was an Imperial star destroyer. The imperial spy told the captain of the star destrowyer that Qui-gon and Obi-wan were escaping so the destroyer went after them.

The star destroyer kept on firing laser blasts and released four Tie-fighters that chased them.

Now Qui-gon was getting worried and he tried to turn the Hyper-drive on.

Httttmppp….MMMMtotttprrrrpppp….BOOom.

They just barely made it into light speed and escaped.

Unfortunately the had to land on another planet because they were damaged.

On that planet they discovered some special nuts that they could use to make a fuel for fixing their ship. A certain part of the nut had Oil (40%), some was protein (50%) and the other 10% was a substance called claycar that they used to fix their ship. We had to figure out how many nuts it would take to make enough claycar to fix the ship.

Justinian and Theodora

Justinian was a emperor of the Byzantine Empire. He grew up in a peasant home without much money. He wanted to go Constantinople to go to school and begged his parents to let him go.

Finally his parents let him go and he studied in the big city of Constantinople Greek, Latin, Math, Writing, Reading and memorizing. After he was done with his school he joined the army. People started to like him because he had good ideas and strategies in fighting. More and more people thought that he should be the emperor. He became the Emperor and ruled justly that is why he is called the JUST emperor. Justinian made made a laws for his people. Here some of the laws he made:

If you find a jewel or something precious washed up on the sea shore you can take it for yourself.

You can go to the beach or the river and no one can tell you to get off it is my property.

While he was in the army as a soldier he saw a beautiful lady in the crowd and wanted to know her name and where did she come from. She was Theodora. Before she met him she was in the circus growing up with her dad, she was a clown, an actress and the she went to Constantinople . There she met some Christians and wanted to change her life and live more peacefully. She learned to sew thread and then she met Justinian. They fell in love and married.

When he became the emperor she became the Empress. Once when there were hard times and rebels attacking the palace Justinian wanted to run away and let the rebels win. But Theodora told him not to go and stay and defend his kingdom. For if he goes he will be given them the thrown freely without a fight. Justinian was afraid that they might lose and wanted to safe his life and his wife's life. But he listened to Theodora and stayed and fought the rebels. And after a long battle he won and was forever grateful to Theodora for helping him stay and protect his kingdom.

Christianity in Britain

Before Rome fell, Christianity spread to all of Europe.

After Rome fell, even though the Roman Empire was gone, there was still Christianity in many places that the Roman Empire ruled over. One of the places that Rome ruled over, close to Britain, was Gaul.

One day that Pope was walking near there and he saw 3 slave boys, but they had blonde hair and in Gaul it was very odd to have blonde hair, most had dark hair. When the Pope asked the slave trader where the boys came, he told them they came from the island of Britain. So the Pope asked the slave trader if Britain was Christian and the slave trader said they hadn't even heard of Christianity. The pope asked what the boys people were called.

They said they were Anglos. The pope thought they looked more like angels because of their blond hair. Then the pope bought the boys so they wouldn't be slaves. Then he fed the boys and took care of him and sent them to school to learn about Christianity. Then he asked Augustine to take the boys back to Britain and to teach the people there about Christianty.

When Augustine arrived there the king of the Celts heard about their magic powers and came down and said he wouldn't let them enter his palace until they told about their powers. He was afraid they would cast a spell on him.

Augustine explained that he didn't have magic, just Christianity and he taught many of the people in Britain became Christian.

Genius Game

This week I had a birthday. I got a game that was called Genius.

It's a physics game where you build different inventions and sell them and solve problems.
I'm learning about steam engines, pulleys and how fast something goes. I also learned how to tell a real gold coin by its density. I also learned that you can't make energy out of nothing.

I had to build a waterworks and a water tower so the fire department would work and protect buildings from fire.

I built a bicycle factory which uses coal for energy. Later I made a building to make iron. With coal and iron I could make steel and build a train factory.

I also had to build houses for workers to live in. They like to live not too far away from the factories and not too close to them either. They also like to live by trees and to have their wages paid very good or they will go on strike. They are especially happy when I build a museum or schools.

I made $30,000 in the game but I spent a lot of it building new factories.

My dad helps me with the math, but it's a lot of fun.
