Easter

We had a good Easter. We went to church in the morning and my mom gave a talk. She talked about the Resurrection. We learned that the name Easter came from a Norse goddess named Ēostre. In Bulgaria it is called great day. I think it is a better name. After church we came home and ate a feast!! we had lamb with rice,mushrooms, potato, salad and Taziki ( a Bulgarian dish with Yogurt ( we made it) garlic(we grew it) cucumber and Dill) It was delicious. For desert we had figs and almonds. Then we took the eggs we had hard boiled and dyed on Saturday ( we ate crepes and won our soccer game 1-0 on Saturday) and hid them. We went and found the eggs. After that we knocked eggs. We went and walked mikes (a old man who has a broken leg) dogs and Spencer-pierce little farm. After we had dinner we watched rise of the Guardians and went to sleep. Today is Easter Monday. The United States of America dose not Officially recognize Easter Monday as a holiday. Many other Countries do like parts of central Africa, Most of Europe, Canada and other places. Easter Monday is a lot like Easter Sunday. We are Happy and thankful that Jesus died for us and Resurrected.

Science experiments and Iodine

I did science experiments today. 

Here is one: this one is a piece of paper wrapped into a tube. It holds the book up when it is in tube shape because it is stronger. 

Here is the other one. It is olive oil ,butter and water mixed. Water and oil separate I also did the vinegar / baking soda experiment. After a while the vinegar soaked into the soda. 

Iodine

Iodine is solid at regular temp. It is rarely liquid at all. Iodine cures hoof fungus on horses. You can not take a picture of iodine in its gaseous form with a black background. There are no particles to reflect the light back. You need iodine. For your thyroid gland on your throat. Iodized salt has very little iodine in it and it can't be used easily. They used to use Iodized gum !

Celtic sea salt and health

We just got Celtic sea salt. It is Unrefined salt. There is nothing added to it. It has many elements and minerals. It is very healthy. We also are eating full fat dairy. It is healthier than low-fat and non-fat. The Non-fat and low-fat stuff have lots of chemicals and non natural additives. 

General Conference

General conference just passed. It was on April 5-6. I liked the prophets talk on love. I also liked Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk. April 6th is the Day that Jesus was born. It is also the day the Church was restored. Here is a link to conference.       

April fools day

April fools day passed not to long ago. There are many ideas of where it came from. One says that the French king Charles the IX (9th) said that the new year in France would be January 1st. Before the new year was on April first. Some French still kept to April as the New year. The French who had January first as their new year made fun of the " fools " on April first.

Chickens!

We got chickens! We got 4 Araucanas , 2 Cornish and one polish. They are just chicks right now. We are taking care of them. They eat and drink. The polish is named Gustavus after Gustavus Adolphus. They have a heat lamp keeping them warm. 90 - 95 degres. We will get our own eggs from them when they grow up.
